Purple Heron, Tophill Low
Another most wanted bird for Yorkshire and my first in Britain and first on the deck as all the others in Spain have been flyovers in giant reed beds. I was waiting for this to sail over the garden all day but it returned to North Lagoon at Tophill late on showy its nuts off, unusual for this secretive species. I managed a good few record shots although in reality my kit didnt have the reach for this. Very happy and now 282 Yorkshire; 320 UK with Collared Fly to add to both.

How birds and brains become mutually exclusive

Serious envy coming from Leeds, however I have had several close encounters with them abroad.
